The new staff dining facility at BNP Paribas, Marylebone provides a variety of dining spaces to ensure lunchtime refreshment is delivered efficiently and also provides flexibility in the fixtures to extend the hours of use of the dining space, with multi-function areas being available for use for meetings and seminars during the rest of the working day.
Developed entirely through BIM technology, the spatial layout of the dining spaces, meeting areas and back of house kitchen installation was modelled, phased, then signed off by the client within an immersive environment several months before work began on site.
The concept of the dining space, which opened up the centre of the existing building, works around streaming efficiency to allow direct routes to each servery area, from a quick stop at the coffee bar with a speedy return to desk through to a full use of the servery and dining area.
The new dining space was modelled fully with BIM technology to ensure the space was fully coordinated between all sub-contractor packages and enabling live update renderings to be presented to the client throughout the design process from Stage 2 onwards.
