Office, Maintenance and Hangar Facility at London Biggin Hill Airport
The RizonJet office, maintenance and hangar facility forms a major new 13,000sqm development in the South Camp area of London Biggin Hill Airport. The hangar houses an MRO facility and an AOC charter operation along with a Fixed Base Operation geared to meet the high expectations of its discerning Gulf-based clients.
Critical to the success of this project was having the operational runway available at all times which led to careful consideration of the apron layout and the phasing of the perimeter landscaping. Personnel flow within the building was of particular concern as the flight side, land side security had to be maintained to MOD standards whilst enabling a high quality VIP customer experience.
The project involved the full design of shell and interior fit-out with styling of the latter based upon cultural influences of the client's home country. The building has become the gateway to London Biggin Hill airport and has led to new projects for both the London Aerospace Technology College and the London Biggin Hill Airport Hotel.
